Hi all, Just looking for feedback on 6V repo horns. I've read a lot of negatives
but not too many positives. Surely there must be somebody out there who are happy with their Repos ?. |

The manufacturer is apparently about the only one. >LOL

Thanks Lawson, I guess because I didn't get any positives the Repos are not worth it. I might just fit a 6v horn under the hood and leave the others on for looks.

My understanding is the Repos need a relay as they are wired differently. My 34 has repos on it (that aren't wired up) plus a under hood horn. I asked my Auto electrician to wire up my repos and remove the under hood horn but he told me the repos "are dead" but I suspect he didn't know that they needed a relay. I have brought a couple of original 35 horns and I will use the Repos covers and trumpets to modify them so they look right and will install them on my car. Karl

I have used the repro 33-34 Ford horns on a customers car. They do look ok but the sound is WAY off from what you would expect. They are loud but sounded more like a modern horn. I think they require a relay due to the amperage draw they have compared to a original.
PS both of his were Dead on arrival new and I had to tinker with them to get them to work. I dont remember now what I had to do? |
