This was in the pile of parts that came with my new to me 28 Sport Coupe. At first I thought it was a Model A version of the antikythera mechanism
![]() Seroiusly I think its a old cam degree wheel, what do you guys think? Its marked 10-20-30-40 and the center spins.

It "might" be a "remembering" gear frum a "gearhead", you know, the one that meshes with the RECALL idler, NOT to be confused with the WAKE UP GEAR, which has 3 less teeth!

My granddaughter, Grace, a second grader took one look and said "from a clock". Why do you have clock parts with your Model A stuff?

I don't know what your thing is. I have a "thing" that was in my '31 pickup bed for a long time & don't know what it is. The thing is about 2' long with the attached, diecast spring clamp & the woven material has metal ends on it.

That dam thing!!! Thanks Ed, I've asked a hundred people with no luck. My pickup was in a plumbing warehouse up on blocks for 43 years. Just shows what info can be had on Fordbarn!!!

NOT to be confused with a 'TINKER'S DAM" which is made of CLAY, & is discarded after use. Thus the saying, "NOT WORTH A TINKER'S DAM"! TINKER is an old English word meaning, meaning, PLUMBER.

I think I know,,,, one question was this model A ever driven to Hawaii? Because I think that is a Norse version of a Sextant, well just the degree part, the rest might have been washed overboard and that is why they had to return to the states.

The gear shape part looks like what is left of an old roulette wheel or gambling device.
