Help for new owner
Being new to the model a, I am in the process of redoing the brakes. I had to replace missing brake rods and need advice if my installation is correct.
On the front brake rods the rod stop is in front of the anti rattle spring and on the rear brake rods the stop for the brake and ebrake is behind the anti rattle spring. I have attached photos. No rods are connected to brakes since brakes and backing plates have been sent out for rebuilding. Second issue. I finally replaced the dovetail rubbers in the doors but they do not align with the dovetail on the body. I been advised that the body may need to be aligned and from looking at the body line, the doors are not straight as photo shows. How do I correct this alignment. Thanks for any help

Re: Help for new owner
Tom, you have 2 great Model A Clubs in your area. Either one probably has a member near you that would be happy to help you.
https://www.mafca.com/chapters/TX.html The position and orientation of the brake "anti-rattle springs" should be such that they help release the service brake when you lift your foot off the brake pedal. Think of them as added return springs. If hey are oriented to do that, they are correct. The answer to the door alignment question is not so easy. It could be one item or many things combining. Look at the hinges, make sure they are properly tightened. After that, you need to get someone who knows the internal structure of the coupe well, to help find the bad spot.

Re: Help for new owner
Jim,
I belong to the Ft. Worth club and members have helped me tremendously. They have redone my brakes and now I am assembling their work but I am learning all I can from this forum.
