Default 28 Starter

My starter sticks on at the slightest movement. After checking other posts and the part catalogues it seems that I have an early 28 starter motor with the large copper contact. And that seems to be my current problem. I have tried a replacement starter switch (A-11450) and that is no solution. The previous owner (my brother) suggested raising the starter switch off the starter to increase the gap. The existing starter switch has the same problem so I think its probably a later replacement.

I have searched the online sellers but can find no other starter switches other than A-11450. Any suggestions as to what my options are?

Thanks
