I'd like to hear from anyone who has fitted rear bumpers to a pickup. On this thread or by private message please.

Mine has the bumperettes from a car fitted. P/Us weren't sold here so this is a vehicle I brought into the country. The bumpers were already fitted but were only good for show so I redid them so that they would contribute something in the vent of someone ramming the rear end.

I also want to fit bumpers on my 28rpu, probably with a tow hitch. Would like to see details on your brackets.

I was not able to download these good pictures of a pickup with the split rear bumpers. So please follow the hyperlink to an EBay listing of a Model A PU. Doesn’t look bad at all. |

My right tail light does not have the license lens, on the left side it still has the license lens. My plate is illuminated. I found a license frame that has a light in it.

Hi Gary, my '31 CCPU had rear short bumpers on it when purchased, the PO used some 2X4s to "augment" the installation.
Here's some pictures:

Thankyou Katy and other respondence. When I get home I'll compare your replys to what I've got. Tell you a story about my bumperettes. When Patsy and I travel outback we camp on roadside or by creeks and billabongs. One evening we camped where some low class citizen had dumped a load of trash which included Model-A bumperetes which I took home. A Melbourne fellow needed them and I didn’t so I gave them to him. When I bought what call my Model A, "woofa express" I decided to fit bumperettes. So I imported a set from America. Then I saw a set of longitudinal brackets them to so another purchase and bumperttes came too. That makes 3 sets and still haven't got a set attached to Woofa Express. But will have soon.

I'll see what I can do about getting pictures of the front attachment.
