I think milling any head for 0.050 over the pistons is a good idea. While checking for piston to head clearance, also check valve to head clearance.

Well; Any 8ba type head has only a small lip under the thermostat neck and you will be quickly having to mill that portion with the head surface. I always look for excessive milling and shrinkage of the compression 'dome'.. Newc

Yes , the 8ba stye head has a clearance problem under the thermostat housing. However the right mill can cut the clearance, But!!! That area is very thin. How do I know?????
