Gary asked on "AHOOGA" how the door lock works on his Coupe, but for some reason Photobucket hasn't been working for me the past two days, so I'll have to post links to my pictures here.
The sliding door lock pushes a steel plate to block the arm on the rotating part on the outside door handle shaft, thus blocking it from rotating. These pictures are from my 29 Tudor, but they are the same for the Coupe. My latch had some broken springs, but after installing the new spring kit and greasing all the moving parts, the door really closes and latches nice now. If you look closely you can see that I still need to replace the broken spring on the shaft for the inside door handle. Last edited by Tom Wesenberg; 09-23-2011 at 08:48 AM. |
