Default Old Repro Shocks

I just bought an A with what appears to be repro shocks. They are probably 25 yrs old but vehicle was never used. I disconnected one and it was free and tight, but has little resistance to movement. Turning the adj screw makes no difference. I think I read that you do not add fluid to these units. Is there any way I can make these usable?

Doe it have a refill plug? If so see if there is any fluid in it ands add if none. Ya can't hurt a dead shock.

Here is a couple thoughts. Back in the 80s, Pete Busiak in CHicago made MOdel A shocks. You can thell they are his if you look at the writing on the shocks and they say made in Chicago, IL. Many or all of these were brass, and wore out quickly. After that and until now, M&S in Oregeon makes shocks that only have oil on teh inside part, and dont work well.

I have complete repro shocks bodies and links here for sale. Sold separately or in sets. 100% new. 100% repro. Work very well. Fully adjustable. The only difference is there is no writing on the covers. Otherwise you would never know. You can have as many as you want. See "The Swap Meet" for details.

Antique Auto and Parts by Pete in Chicago ?
He had shock sets, '30-'31 Hub caps and Cowl Bands.

I have some of each.
