Default 39 gas filler hole

I have to cut the hole for the gas filler neck in a fiberglass fender for a 39 Std. coupe. I do not have a fender to copy or measure. I need measurements and the best method to mark the fender for the hole. I can do it on or off the car, whatever is best. Thanks

Remove the filler tube from the gas tank, attach the fender to the car and using a long hose like the one that fits between the tank and filler tube, slide it on the tank and then mark the fender.

I don't know who made your fenders but many times you can see the outline of bolt holes, etc on glass fenders. Look closely and you might see the outline of the gas filler hole.
