Default 1938 Standard Glove Box Handle

I would like to see a picture of a 1938 Standard Glove Box Handle. I want to know what I am looking for.The screws that hold it on are 2 1/8 inches center to center and there is a hole between them that is 3/4 of an inch. Thanks, John.

We are working on installing a glove box lock on a '36. We removed the original handle - two screws - but then had to make the 3/4" hole for the lock.

I'm wondering if your glove box door ever had a lock in it?

The handle is a simple bar with holes for the two screws; if you put on just the handle the 3/4" hole might still be visible.

Does this make sense?

Henry

There are no holes on the inside of the Glove Box Door for the center of the lock or a lock lever. Thanks, John.

Just measured my '38 standard glove box and the distance between holes is 2 3/16". There is no hole in between the screw holes as the standard did not have the locking glovebox. BUT, a deluxe locking handle could have been installed by the dealer as it was an option in place of the standard handle.
