Default Bratton's really comes through

This is a follow-up to the thread https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showth...2845&showall=1

In all honesty, I was skeptical that Bratton's would come through at first, but fellow barn'ers assured me that Bratton's does indeed give excellent customer service, and now I cheerfully agree.

Background- Started out with a rebuilt part I had ordered that was received in unusable condition. The damage clearly wasn't in shipping, it was rebuilt by whomever Bratton's sources them with poor or no quality control. Within 20 minutes of receiving and opening the box, called to inform Bratton's of the problem and that's where I was hung up upon. The thread was posted shortly thereafter on December 26 to share the situation with fellow barn'ers.

Well, here's what Bratton's did to fix the problem.

First of all, they sent the replacement part right away, they didn't even wait for the bad part to arrive back to their place.

On December 28th, Mr. Walter Bratton called my office to apologize for the trouble.

On January 3rd, they mailed out a check to cover the cost of mailing the bad parts back to them. Included was a note apologizing for the trouble.

On January 8th, received the replacement item, and it looks like brand new! It's far better than expected.

It's refreshing and inspiring to know that a mail order place will still go the extra mile to make sure their customer gets what they need. I still don't know why the phone call to report the original part went so badly, but suspect it was merely a anomaly. Clearly, Bratton's is indeed interested in their customers' needs. Will be buying from Bratton's again and again with confidence.

Just wanted to share with the gang so there is some closure on this.

For most of us who bought from Walter for "years" this is nothing new.... They always put you first...

In a day and age when one seems to have fight customer service on a daily basis it's great to deal with a company like Bratton's. I am always pleased in my dealings with them. Like I said before I got a package of fasteners that got ripped open by USPS. I called them and 2 days later I had all the order,no questions asked.

I am in the same mindset as Peter Mendola in that many of us here already know the Bratton team and know the integrity that Walt's business puts out each & every day. I am glad it worked out ...and in the future, I sure wish folks here who experience something they deem as an issue would not go viral without a chance for the owner of the company to make it right. All the previous thread did IMO was create turmoil within a community which did not do anything positive towards a resolution.

Brent,

You are 100% correct. Those of us that have used Bratton's in the past already knew Walt would take the high road. I was a little dismayed at how quick the original poster reacted in a public forum before calling Walt directly. He is available by telephone. All you have to do is ask for him. If he isn't there he will return your phone call. He is a business man and that is how they survive.

I just knew Bratton's would come out smelling like a rose-the folks there are the best, and I was waiting to see how this matter would turn out. The original guy on the phone must have been suffering from PMS.

I've been buying all my repo parts from Brattons for years and have never been disapointed. I'm sure other Barners feel the same about another vendor, but I think Brattons is the best. Hope they read this and give me a discount on my next order. Just kidding.

Perhaps you missed the part that the phone call to Bratton's is what caused the post that began the other thread. How was that a "reaction"? It was a method of sharing and seeking info from peers for guidance.

This follow-up thread is a testimony from a non-partial observer that Bratton's not only made good, but did so with class and integrity.

Well here is the deal in my view. All of us were not there as a party to know what really happened so all we can fall back on is relating your situation as you have told it with our own experiences to form our opinion of what actually happened. I am definitely not saying that it didn't happen however several things you said are inconsistant with what my experiences have been in my dealings with them. Apparently others share my sentiment too. Look at it from our view, you stated you don't really know with whom you spoke to during this, --and you did not call back immediately and find out. You also did not consult with Walt FIRST before openly spewing out harmful statements for everyone to hear ...except Walt himself. Please understand, what's done is done, ...and I think it would be awesome if Ryan would remove both this post and the other one. Whether or not it would happen is not my decision however maybe in the future many of us could learn from this on how we should treat others in situations like this.

Brent's suggestion above, "I think it would be awesome if Ryan would remove both this post and the other one. Whether or not it would happen is not my decision however maybe in the future many of us could learn from this on how we should treat others in situations like this" is a great idea.

Defaming a reputable business like Bratton's which Walt has spent a lifetime building up is uncalled for. It's akin to condemning him without a fair trial.

So P.S. had a bad experience, he is allowed to post about it. I love you kids crying for it to be removed because you love Brattons so much.. I use them all the time too, and have never had any issues, but if someone wants to share their experience, who are you to call for it to be deleted just because you don't like the content?

it could have been handled differently from the get go internally with brattons most likely without needing the power of the barn. since it did go down this way what a great advertisment for them.
i wouldnt want the thread removed either and by the way what was that part in question ? i didnt know walt was into selling secret cia items..

Not everything goes smoothly but it is good to know who is best at taking the sting out of the bumps. There may have been some misunderstanding on either side with the initial phone call. In the end he is reporting that the resolution was better than expected. There are way more good dealers than bad as well as way more good customers. But running into only one bad of either completely changes how business is done.

Well, maybe my wishes for it to be deleted come as from someone who undeservingly had their own name & reputation drug through an open forum of critics. When the facts were exposed, all the vocal armchair critics "ran" leaving hurt feelings on my part. Walt doesn't deserve this type treatment nor a reminder either. This is NOT how a business is done, ...and no matter which way you spin it, this type of thread serves no constructive benefit to our hobby.

With regard to this particular incident, Paul (the original poster) actually called me on the phone and we had a very pleasant conversation not only about this, --but about personal family items as well. In listening to him speak, I cannot help but feel this has escalated into something WAY more than was his original intention, and I think anyone who could speak personally with Paul would realize his demeanor and personality is much like Walt's. I think they are both genuinely great guys. For the record, Paul even said to me he wishes these two posts could be removed. It really doesn't matter if they stay or if they go as I have nothing to gain financially either way, but sometimes I take the position that I would like to eliminate some of the negative things from this world to make more room for positive things.
