"Rough drawing" Nov./29 to Final modification Oct. 1930 , there were 9 changes. NOT all changes were released . First design was for the 1930/31 open cab pickup. Called for chrome plated but was quickly changed in less then a month. DELETE the chrome plating and specity the stanchions be painted. Part # A-37130/31 by Ford. Lower stanchions were made of both steel and brass. Early stanchions was staked in 4 places and then arc welded and then went to butt welded to speed up production. Thanks go out to Ross Milne President of the 180A club and George De Angelis [Ford archives]

If you look at the Indianapolis Service Letters you will find a couple good entries on this in late October (around 10/22?). Additionally the steel stanchion was made up of two parts, A-37125 & A-37126. The first drawing on these was 9/1/30 as far as I can tell. By October the steel lower stanchions were in full production. I would guess there were still some lingering 180-A bodies at Briggs with the bronze lower stanchions.
