I sent payment to join the Cabriolet Club in early September. I have sent likely 15 emails attempting to make contact with them and no response.
On one occasion several weeks ago I got a short email that they would try to send something. Now the emails bounce back as undeliverable ! Still nothing and it is just about December. Is the club legitimate or is it a scam ? Or possibly is the club in turmoil with no leadership. I am certainly not impressed at this point ! Wayne |

Interesting subject and I am sure I will spin a few heads with my comments.
The Cabriolet Club was real and fairly active. Sadly the owner, Larry, did not want to bring it online and got nasty about it. Nasty to the point of writing a bunch of false negative comments about me in one of the newsletters and then did not allow a rebuttal from me. This was after I got a call from him where he started off screaming at me on the phone. Seems he was upset I said one of his reproduction parts was not exactly correct, but would do the job, for the wrong application. That is he sold door window trim U channel for the 68A/B and I compared it to the 68C. It was very well made stuff and just slightly off in dimension for the 68C. When I first talked to Larry he did nothing on the computer, his wife would work the computer. Larry finally tried a computer months after I posted that comment and then placed a phone call to me where actually screamed at me over the phone. What is disappointing is that Larry refused to come online and share his knowledge as he really knows (knew?) a lot about the cabriolets and could have made the club into a shining star of information online. Today I have no clue what they are doing. They charge a lot for their back newsletters and none of the information is very timely since they only publish a few times a year. Much of any useful information has already been hashed out on Bob's Cabriolet board and any questions not already answered there (search back in time) are quickly answered on Bob's board or here on Fordbarn. To get an idea of what could be done for a special interest club, the A400 club has a wonderful website. Your membership gets you access to all the back issues online as well as Ford drawings. Plus they have a forum that will quickly get you answers. So that is my side of the story. It was a very frustrating experience and it was wonderful that Bob took the time to create the online forums to help as I would not have been able to get to the point I have with my car. |

Kevin: How can I reach "Bob's Cabriolet board"? I have a late '30 Cabriolet. Since you are in NJ & I'm in SE PA, I would appreciate conferring with you. If you are agreeable, please contact me directly. Many thanks, Dick H. in PA.

My cabriolet board is at
Cabriolet Message Board As for the Cabriolet club. The latest newsletter that I have received is the June 2012. It normally comes out 4 times a year but sometimes they miss an issue and then there is a combined issue latter on. |
