Thank you all for serving. Without you we might not be able to enjoy our great freedom and hobbies.

I did my part but thankfully I did not have to serve in a combat zone. Cudos to those who did.

Standing for an hour and a half today listening to politicians at a new Memorial reminded me of standing for hours while in the Navy. Still, I had it good... My service was cold war.

Spent time in the North Alantic in a tincan, never thought I'd get out of there alive. Picket duty, anti sub. never fired a shot in anger, but ice burgs were fair game.
God I love this country, hope and pray it survives, allot of good men paid for it. |

Thanks Bill. A Vet buddy and I and wives went to lunch at Applebee's today. Very warm and nice. Sure better than the Vietnam welcome some Vets got. My Daddy was in WWI and my son-in-law in the gulf. Of my 23+ years of USAF service 9 years involved Vietnam to some degree. Clem

Thank you to all the Vets!
My father and uncles did their years in Germany and France during WWII coming home with their share of "minor" scrapes, scratches, bangs and bumps. They all lost good friends and buddies, all but one was in the Army, the other was Air Corps. My brother, cousin and I did our time in Viet Nam... all AT THE SAME TIME! They each did one year I did 20 months straight through. They were Marines and I was US Army. We all got out with "minor" scrapes, scratches, bangs and bumps as did our fathers and uncles. We all lost good buddies but we have our freedom... for the next few months it looks like. Old Henry, I really like your flag display, where can that holder and flags be purchased? |
