I am looking for a source for 6" rubber door check straps that are not black.
Working on a '47 super deluxe woodie, apparently restored by Nick Alexander. One of the door check straps broke and I am looking for a replacement. I have a call in to Nick Alexander's shop, but I was wondering if anybody had any info on where to find one. The strap is rubber, 6" long and not black. It is more of a tan color. Any info would be appreciated Tony Actually in looking at the strap again, it looks like the rubber is brown... a whitish film (release agent) made it look tan. Drake lists them in his catalog. Of course, that doesn't mean he has them in stock...
None of the reproductions will have the small "F", the Firestone trademark but the color and (otherwise) appearance is very close to the authentic.
