Cool Replacing a throwout bearing

I have to replace the clutch throwout bearing in my 1939 convertible sedan. Which way is easier, pull the engine or pull the rear end and transmission. ??? Jim in San Jose.

In my opinion? Pull the rear back a few inches. I've done quite literally a few dozen and have always found that to be the most efficient way.

I agree, after doing it about 15 times, pulling the rear end goes much easier. When I was drag racing mine many years ago I was able to do it in about 45 minutes. Now it takes me much longer, its getting harder to climb out from under the car these days. Good luck!
