Ques.on 34-up fuel pump stand ?

34 intake manifolds have a diamond shaped hole at the rear for the stand they used NO BAFFLE tube in them.[wouldn't fit anyhow] Which fill stand is correct for 34. Now there is another stand with 2 rasied ridges near the top and has a depression on the bottom of it to accomodate a baffle. Which is correct for 34 and which is correct for 35 up. I know what the 35-36 book shows.I was always under the impression that smooth ones were for 34 and ribbed were for 35 up.Does anybody know diff.???? ken ct.

The early 34 style has a back surface profile that curves slightly from the top to the bottom. The 34 later style was carried over to 35-6-7-8 and the back profile has a distinct hump with both styles the top extended to the firewall and the bottom slightly further away from the firewall. Neither style has the two raised ridges. The raised ridges first appear in mid year 1938 and on.

Adding to Terry's comments, the ones without the ridges are normally cast aluminum whereas those later ones with the ridges are die cast zinc castings.

This is what the troops are talking about . Left is the first type[ earlier ] and middle is the later one . The last pic is the proper cap for 32-34 . The one on the right is missing it's tube & is the later ribbed type .

Ive never seen or had one like on the far left.I assumed allthe time middle one was 34 and ridged one was for 35-up.???????????? ken ct.

They're not that hard to find & some don't know the difference so pics are a good idea if you are looking for some . I only have 1 x-tra & I'm keeping it . Dunno on the later ones but left & center are right on 34's . Early on early etc .

Lft and middle on 32-34 other on 35 up,thats what i always thought. ken ct.

Pretty sure the middle one goes past 34 . The one in the pic is off a 35 .
