Default More on Spline Couplers

I was reading Redbeards thread on replacing his 10 spline coupler on his early drive shaft. Sounds like JM35 has solved his problem.

Can anyone tell me a source of 6 spline couplers that I could weld onto my 35 shaft as I am fitting a 3.78 Ring and Pinion with 6 splines.
The coupler would need a socket on one end to fit into the 35 hollow shaft.

Seems to me it would have to be put in a lathe to check the balance.
Have any of you guys done this or is there a better way?

Your advice/ responses will be appreciated as always,

thanks Dave

MAC's and Speedway sold the six to six and six to ten spline couplers at one time. Have not looked for them in their catalogs lately. Shadtree had a '35-'36 drive shaft modified to remove the ten spline bung or bore it out and welded in a six spline coupler. He had a drive shaft shop do this modification and all went well. You could send him a pm for more details and maybe some pictures.
I have some used six to six spline couplings but would need to check their condition before I would offer to sell them.
