I have a 31 S/W with 16" wheels and 215/70 cooper tires and when you have two grown ups in the back seat and go around a corner the tires rub on the inside of the wheel well .Any body have a fix for this.
Thanks Pat |

Duffy,
If your running the same pressure on all 4, you need to go up in the rear. Extra weight in the S/W and also radials flex in the sidewall. It'll make the ride a tad rougher but should mitigate the rubbing. Do you have good shocks? Pete |

I have air shocks in the back of my 31 s/w (160B). I don't run 16's so I can't comment on clearance, but here is some detail and observations: I have one leaf removed from the rear spring, so there is a definite 2" sag with no air in the shocks. Leveled with air, the car corners with much less side lean, as there is now an independent air spring on each side taking some of the load. I like being able to set the car absolutely level for any loading configuration.

installed a panard bar on the rear to hopefully keep it from swaying when you go around a corner . Have not tested it yet . Will let you know if this solves the problem . |
