I got a turn signal unit today in a box of stuff at a garage sale. It's a newer inexpensive job. But whoever removed it from the car just cut the wires, and I don't have a diagram. Can someone tell me where these wires coming out of the unit harness go: Red, green, yellow, orange, and brown? And there are three wires going into the flasher, one of which is brown as it goes into a fuse. In this the same brown that comes out of the harness?
If anyone can decode this for me, or post a diagram it sure would be helpful. There also seems to be some kind of emergency flasher switch on the unit in addition to the activating arm.

Ray,
What brand or model might it be? I have a new complete kit, not installed yet. Bill W.

heres a web page on signalstats.
http://www.film.queensu.ca/cj3b/tech/signalwiring.html if yours is not signalstat, the wiring is essentially the same, tho the color code may not be. |

Thanks Pat. My unit doesn't have any mfg ID on it, but it looks very much like the ones in your illustrations, except i has the emergency flasher switch also. Close enough that I can make it work, I think.
Bill, take a look at Pat's link and let me know if that's what you have. Mine looks very much like what Bert's sells, but their illustrations are so poor it's hard to tell.

Ray, Mine is a Signal-Stat 900, my wiring diagram may not apply to your unknown brand. Bill W.

Please take a look at my club's website at http://www.CedarCreekAs.org and follow the link to "TechTopics". There you will find a link for "Turn Signal Wiring Diagrams" and another called "12V conversion and adding turn signals". |

Thanks Bill. I don't see exactly what I have (no brown wire or indication of emergency flasher setup), but as with what Pat provided, I think I can cobble something together that works.
