Default OT, need help to ID modern axles.

I posted this over on the HAMB, but I thought that I would also give it shot here as well, the more eyes that see it may be able to help ID it.

I had bought these two axles that you see in the pictures, but I had bought them mostly for the stands that they are on. So what I am trying to do is to identify them correctly so I can get them into the hands of the people that want/need them (if there is a want or need). I was told that they were both 1979 Ford rear axles, but to be honest I wouldn't know if they are or are not and I have my doubts. They are both 10 bolt, one is Ford and the other (smaller) I believe to be GM.

These both came out of a high school vocational career center, the smaller one in the second photo looks "used" but the larger one in the first photo (with the exception of being in the classroom) looks to be new and though it has never seen the road. Rather than post a bunch of photos here on the forum I have included a link to a Photobucket album with a bunch of photos of both axles.

Any help that anyone can offer will be of great help, and please be kind to an old man that is pleading ingnorance and asking for help. Thanks for your time and help, it is very much appreciated.

Might post them on the late V8 section. Much more likely to have someone there that knows, than on the A. Guessing the GM, may be a Metric Monte Carlo style. The Ford does not appear to be an 8.8" or 9". Rod

Thanks for the idea Rod, I will post this over there as well. I got everything for less than it would have cost for the metal to make the stands, so now I just want to make sure that I can ID these correctly and get them on down the road. I like to know what I am trying to sell or get rid of, just in case someone does something foolish like ask a question about it.

Like everything else that's listed on eBay, just say "fits Model A". It will sell in a New York minute!
