That is the car that Gordon Buehrig the designer for Duesenberg, Cord and Auburn designed and had built. What a beautiful car!

There was a replica of that car at Iola, WI car show several years ago. Impressive wheels! Gar Williams

The replica is pretty darned good. I bet the top was a bear to reproduce due to the way it had to fold.

"sure would be neat if the original surfaced!"

Yep. Sometimes it's difficult to tell what's real and what's not ... or what's really unreal and what's unreal but real. Or what's original and what's really original ... or what's unreal but original ... you know what I mean.

Anyhow, here's Jack Richard's Cabriolet for those who missed it before:

HOOP...It is GREAT to know that you are still around!

Good to hear from you!

Yes sir ieeeee...I like the "original" the best! It just stands out better than the "replica", for which as you say is "pretty darn good" to!

Not bad for 450+ views. Thank you for helping out with a little "screen test."

Gordon Buehrig was an icon of custom coach building. Each guy who tries to duplicate what Buehrig did with his cabriolet finds that it's a whole lot trickier than they first thought.

The Buehrig Cabriolet will remain a tantalizing project for stouter souls ... and, if true enough, may tease the eye of the unwary.

Yep. Proportions are horrible. Looks like a home made Shay replica done by a blind man.

LOL
28RPU that's one way of putting it, and I'd have to agree. I think any of the standard body styles is much better looking. Even with the ugly color on my 29 Tudor, I wouldn't trade it for this car.

I was unaware of the Jack Richard car until this thread appeared.
hope to see it sometime.

the one Hoop posted in the grainy photo was just recently completed by a mutual friend of ours in north Florida and is a very nicely done example. I've been told a photo feature article will be done sometime for one of the national magazines.

saw the "orange" one at French Lick and personally was not fond of the color or the way the top looks. that said, it still is a heck of a lot better than anything I could create, so hats off to whoever did it......

Both models become a problem later on in years when the upper body drops from the weight and drags on the ground!
