Default identify this sector housing please

Guys my original steering box out of my rhd 35 phaeton had the sector housing on the left. Notice the crack that let oil leak from the box. Part # is 48-3580. The sector housing on the right came from a rhd 35 fordor. Notice the larger sector sealing area. The sector shaft itself is still 1.25" OD. The part # is 12294. Any ideas about the differences here? I had the later already been bushed and reamed and I have a new rhd sector shaft, and I found a new off the shelf seal to solve the sector shaft seal difference. I can't find any other differences so it should work with the rest of the steering box. I just want to know the differences if any. and why such a different part #??

I checked a 35 housing I have and the PN 48-3580 is also on it. I do not believe the #12294 is a part number probably a casting number, but I am not sure of this. My housing has a modern seal in it CR 11209 it,s OD is about 1.875 inch. In appearance the housing I have looks more like the housing on the right (replacement) not the left hand cracked housing.

The housing on the right looks the same as the housings on 5/6 of the stock '35 left hand steering boxes that I have on my original cars. The one on the left appears to have a seal pressed in place and that makes it look different. I am viewing this on a small smart phone screen so I may be missing some of the details you mention.

Canadian export model vs USA? Later configuration or a running change, could there be a letter after the number, different original supplier, all of these are possible
