Mechanic says come spring I should look at new rear main seal. Does the motor have to come out ? Is there an easy way ? Is there different kinds of seals ? how many hours labor ?

without any further description of your particular engine seal , its hard to say. A Stock A has no rear "seal" it is just a slinger with a drainage system. There are some modern seals that can be added after market, many of which have problems. Without knowing what you have, I could not say much, except in many cases of repair to after market seals, the engine does have to come out. However, rear main leaks are a common problem, and there are several causes, some of which require engine removal and some not. Proper diagnosis is imperative before undertaking a remedy. Read this list of rear main leak causes and determine what your problem is, then you will have enough info to know if the engine must come out.
