I just bought a 29 and I am going to use it as was intened, a pickup. I am very interested as well in knowing what they were rated for or if it was just up to the owner and whether or not the truck would still move, LOL.

I don't know but, I used to haul 2/3 of a yard of #2 stone (about 1600 lbs) in my 31 big bed. Gave me the feel of power steering and the wheels stayed on the road.

Years ago,I loaded my 30 RPU with as much gravel as I could as I pile in it.When I went to move,it wouldnt budge-the fenders were pushed down on to the wheels.I had to get a Jack-All & lift the box & put a block between the center of spring & diff & was able to drive home.Talk about power steering!!

I had eight cheerleaders in mine a few years ago for a parade. Sure was low in the back.

I used my 28n opencab to cart nearly all the building materials for our new home, and also it gets used as an every day pickup by the family,
A last year it took home 5 flathead V8s engines in one go,three in the small box trailer and two in the pickup body,no problems towing it all ,but you have to be careful re the brakes, and any small undulation in the road will hit the bump stops.
