1939 ford conv. Can anyone tell me if the original cowl vent gasket made of foam rubber or rubber and does it have raised ribs? Thanks again and again!

Heck, I'm gonna have to take a guess here. I think they were all of foam rubber, which quickly stiffened, but with the vent closed, it made a good seal. I don't know what purpose raised ribs would serve. The product available today is excellent, and needs only a bit of rubber cement to fix it to the cowl. Close the vent on it for correct positioning while it cures and hardens.
