Is is the rear fenders that identify the car as a 1935?

It would be the wire wheel spare.

Plus bumper and bumper guards, tail lamp brackets, spare tire cover, and rear fenders.

The year on the license plate will let us know what year the photo was taken.

I know what year the car is. I was curious how old the car was when the picture was taken. Notice the clock face gas pumps. It looks like gas was .13 cents/gal? I like to look at all the other surrounding items in these photos also. It tells a more complete story about the time the photo was taken.

The cockpit looks farther away plus the 3 windows were generally fancier, Rumble seated, dual tail lights, roll down window

Love that '37 coupe. Looks like it has a dropped axle with big and little blackwall tires. The license plate is the black and yellow California plate first issued in 1963. I have the same era plates on my '40.
