This is all so new to me, but just bought a 1930 Model A P/U that will be a total ground up rebuild.
Question I have is how to go about removing the drivers side and passenger side door glass out of the door? Any help or at least steering me in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks |

HI: Sound like your in for a lot of work but one thing you better buy is the book called model a ford hand book macanic's hand book vol 1 by Les Anderws. In the book tells you how to take the glass out of the door and alot of other things. I couldn't have done my car with out it.But any way the window comes out from the top of the door you have to take the top of the door off I think it's like 5 or 6 screws. But that's how you get the window out. I take it this is your first model a. If it is BUY the book that I said by Les. It tells you how to do most of the stuff that you are going to have to do. To get it apart and put back together, No matter if your going to make a hot rod out of it BUY THE BOOK. Have fun reggiedog

At the top of the door, on the inside, you will see three screws. These little screws can be a pain to remove but when removed you can then remove the top metal strip, roll the window up untill the end of the regulator arm slips out of the lower metal channel. You can then lift out the glass.

Many thanks guys, that info is very helpfull. One last question; when I get the glass out what is the safest way to remove the glass from the regulators. Also I have to say that yep this is going to be some major work in progress, glad I found this site. When time permits I will start to post some pics.

I would have to second the motion made by reggiedog, that book (and the other 2 behind it) are an invaluable resource. I had my copies even before I got my Pickup. |

Try Bert's in Colorado. But there are a number of vendors who can help you.
