Re: Axle,brakes etc,ID please.
Model A, based on square hole / clamp end on pitman arm ('32 and later were splined) and general "look" of the axle (at least to my eye.) "B" prefix on the axle gives me concern, though.

Re: Axle,brakes etc,ID please.
It looks like you may have a mixture of stuff. I am thinking '32-'34 axle, spindles and brakes and a Model A Pitman Arm and a later tie rod.
According to my Ford Parts Book, B-3010 as 32-36 Axle while A-3010 is 28-31. However it looks like a Model A Axle. If the thickness of the pads where the wishbone attaches to the axle is 2 1/4 in. it is a Model A. '32-'36 used a 2 in. thick pad. Also, 32-34 Brakes should have 12 in. Dia. while Model As were 11 in. Interesting stuff. Chris Last edited by CWPASADENA; 06-05-2010 at 04:44 PM. Reason: TYPO |

Re: Axle,brakes etc,ID please.
Front hubs/drums and brakes and spindles appear to be 1935, since the drums have fins around them and 32-34 do not... also, there appears to be an aftermarket steering arm/adaptor on the LH spindle; 32-34 have an integral arm. The axle with the "B" part number might be a later replacement for Model A? The 1935 tie rod would have the late-style ends. The steering (Pitman) arm looks to be A as already posted, and the drag link has the early-style ends consistant with A thru 34.
Take the drums off and measure the shoe width. If 1-3/4", they are 1935, which is also the same brakes as 1936 until they were redesigned mid-year. The shoe surface in the drums will also be 1-3/4 approx. I would guess that someone had this setup on the front of a Model A???
