Default 2 holes question

Can anybody tell me what this holes were for. On my seat riser

Maybe he was a bootlegger and had his holster bolted there!

Sorry, I can't tell you what they are there for, however, I can tell you that mine has the same holes in the same location. I have seen several other cabs with the same holes, same location. I am sure they came that way from the factory.

Out of curiousity, do you know what assembly plant it came out of?

Trucks used smudge pots up until early 60's. I'm sure some went to reflectors in 50's. I doubt a Model A would have had reflectors except for replacing smudge pots at a much later date.
