A 31 Tudor i picked up has a nice Dealer identification plate with the engine # on it.
Recommends change oil at 500 miles. It's installed inside the car on the firewall. |

Little rivets still in 3 of the corners. Probably installed by a mechanic with a "Big hammer"..........
Here is the Martindale dealership in a vintage 1931 movie. https://historicfilms.com/search/?q=....83&out=557.83 Last edited by ModelA29; 06-10-2025 at 12:32 PM. |

Here's a coincidence - I did a Google Image search on 'Thomas Martindale Ford', looking for pics of the dealership. It brought up this pic of an infant on a Model A, in the obituary of Thomas J Martindale. He was born in 1928, and died in California in 2016. No indication that he was related to the dealership owner...

So it looks like that was the son who worked at the dealership...his dad ran the dealership. Here's a longer obituary.

His death came just before the mass availability of penicillin. It existed but was mostly reserved for the war effort.
