Does anyone know of fellows that can pour and line bore babbit main bearings for Model A and Model B blocks in the Pacific Northwest? I am coming up with names of those that have reportedly since retired or gone on to a much deserved afterlife. As with other departed practitioners of old school technology, this is becoming a problem for the Model A hobby.

Eric Barrett in Auburn Ca.. (530)863-7579
And Dan McEachern in Alameda Ca. I thought there was a guy up your way but maybe he was one of the ones that retired or went to permanent rest..... |

Tom Holthouse, Quality Machine, 2277 CALLE DE LUNA, SANTA CLARA, CA 408-567-9490 (right down the street from Levi Stadium, go ‘Niners!). Last time I was in his shop (maybe a year or so ago) he had the block from a 190-something Oldsmobile that he was re-babbiting.
Not exactly the northwest, I know, but at least still on the west coast.

I believe there is a guy in Vancouver BC that pours babbitt. I will have to ask a local member.

Tom Godish has closed his shop, though he still sells parts. He is very close to retiring. He also has an old flip phone, so he doesn’t always have a good connection.
