Default Choke rod question

On my 29 Tudor the bushing in the firewall for the choke rod is currently black rubber. I believe it is supposed to be a leather grommet and a raven cup washer. Can someone please post a picture of the proper orientation of the leather and raven washer? I have been looking through the books in my “library” and haven’t found an image or drawing of those parts. Thanks for the help…..

The Bratton's catalog description of the choke rod gasket set says:

"4 pcs. The donut shape lower grommet fits on the firewall (Ford never used this one, but some restorers want it) and the upper grommet fits in the ring under the gas tank. The leather cupped grommet goes on the engine side of the firewall, with the smooth side toward the firewall followed by the metal cup washer then the spring. Paint washer black."

Jayjay here is a picture of the bushing stack in my car with the leather on op of the rubber part. Does this look right to you?

I’ve mounted mine so that the cup (concave side) on the metal washer centers the spring, and the convex side presses into the leather and centers it in the firewall hole. That looks opposite of how your metal washer is. I don’t know that the way I’ve done it is correct, though, and I’d be more than happy to be corrected.

there should not have a rubber Gromit in the fire wall, only the leather on the rod with the washer.
