I made a post last October about rear spare tire mounting. Attached is a picture of my outer rear, which I believe are the lower two bolts for the mount. The other picture is my inner body. Is there another part I need? I see no bolt hole for the upper bolt to go into.

I believe you should have a 1” dia hole thru back panel for bolt to clear to the tire bracket. The lower two thread from outside into threaded insert in body as you have shown. Some photos of mine showing body and the A1383 tire carrier. You can see how the panel was distorted to fit to the carrier profile. And the original Balsam Green in that area. Tudor Sedan and Phaetons share the some tire carrier I have heard.
I have question regarding the tire carrier; Was the tire carrier painted body color then installed to body? Or just painted generic black for all to speed up assembly process. |
