My 34 sets to low on the aftermarket spring that came with it and I am rehabbing a original 33/4 front spring. Car is a sedan and book calls for 12 leaves and I only have ten. So far I have wire brushed with a grinder and next will go thru with a grinder to smooth the indentions at the end of some of the springs. Then will paint and coat with Slip Plate. Can anyone recommend a trusted source of used parts where I could find the top two leaves I need.

Jim,
You most likely won't get the car to sit where it had been designed to fit when utilizing used parts. How do you know the top two leaf's are absent? Eaton can make you a new spring. They do good work. That will restore the proper (engineered) height and handling characteristics.

Kube, the spring is supposed to have 12 leaves for a sedan. The present spring on the car is a aftermarket with different thickness leaves and will not hold an arch. The one I am rebuilding has leaves with good arches but is short the two top leaves, guess somebody wanted a lower set and softer ride. It is a original Ford spring.

Don't forget, the top spring is beveled a bit on the sides to fit in the channel of the crossmember. I think some bits from an A spring would work, and the top few are out of sight anyway

Some folks slightly bevel the sharp joint ends- Later springs were greased thru the center bolt. Newc
