I started with a bare 34 PU cab and purchased two windshield frames at swap meets. Both were advertised as being correct for a 34 pickup. However there are some minor differences in them - one has sort of an approximately 1” skirt ( for lack of a better description) along the bottom frame piece that projects inward towards the dash and the other doesn’t. However , The most confusing thing is the loose sheet metal strips that interlock with the top frame pieces that provides the hinged connection. I am assuming that this loose piece attaches to the roof of the cab in some manner to support the WS frame in the installed position. Assuming that one of these two WS frames is indeed the correct one for a 34 PU - my question is : is there some kind of manual that illustrates the correct orientation of these pieces and how the sheet metal strip attaches to the roof of the cab ?

The skirt one is Model A. The correct 32/34 windshield frame should have the full length hinge on top. The hinge bolts to the cab with a rubber seal strip between. There is a rubber seal strip on the other three sides [same part as model A's]. Newc

Isn’t the basic architecture of the 32-34 windshield frame the same as an A, with the skirt removed?

Correct. The tubing and construction details are the same as model A coupe, sedan, and pickup. However, the size and shape differ from model A even with two different model A frame shapes. There were also at least two upper hinges (1928-29 and 1930-31). The tubing may also have been used in 1940 station wagons (I have not personally verified this). |

I don't recall if the upper body hinge from a 30-31 is the same as a 32-34 PU, but since the 30-31 is basically flat (depending upon the exact one you get) I bet it could be used on a 32-34 PU if you don't mind drilling a few holes. |

My 1937 passenger car has both crank out windshield and cowl vent and both are needed in hot weather.

Kinda like the "Bi-Level" setting on current A/C units.
