Try looking at Ebay.....I found some for my 39 Mercury trim, they were more square than round but the same width and grip range and work good. Type in "automotive spring steel trim clips"

Before I placed the wanted ad and the thread on the discussion Forum I looked at all 72 pages of Restoration Supplies and found nothing.On Ebay nothing as well.Fred at Southside obsolete is checking to see if he has some.

I have used the clips from Restoration Specialties 1198-CLP for my 36 Ford 5W Coupe and they matched the original clips. The photo of the installed clip has a small dimple shown on the end of the clip which means the clip should be longer. That dimple is the stop for the installation of the clip and shows the orientation for installation that will match the holes in the door. You could use the clip you have shown, but for about the same price to can get the correct ones. I would order one and test the fit.

Not as simple as that in France.My buddy found them at CW Moss and they ship quickly to Europe .
