Looks like I need a new radiator for my ‘29 Sport Coupe. Browsing vendors’ onlline catalogs, I don’t see a lot of options. I would appreciate any guidance on best sources of good quality radiators.
Thanks, Jim |

Brassworks. Not cheap but great quality and fitment. Worth the wait. IMO
The Brassworks; handcrafted radiators made in the USA

Try to find a radiator repair shop, not easy to do but it should be cheaper than a Brassworks. LRF

I put new radiators in both my ute and tourer. However I saw an A with a novel radiator. Aluminium with a fly screen, black with small round holes placed over it. Holes sufficiently large enough not to impair air flow. I wish I'd seen that and copied prior to purchasing the ridgy didge

Radiator shops doing recores are no longer cheaper than a new radiator.I had an A radiator recored a few weeks ago,it was $1100.He told me to call for any more after that one,as pricing has gone to daily for him, depending how many new cores are in the pipeline. On Tuesday he quoted me a price of $1400.Been using him for tractors and equipment since 1980.He does build cores, but never has built them for the A because they were readily available mass produced.

Very steep.I have some slips on the wall at my shop for A radiators over the last few years. Two were done in 2015,around $400.each.One more in 2019,about $800.Then $1100 a couple of weeks ago,and now a quote of $1400.on Tuesday. And,that quote is only for the day.It may be the same today,or may not be.Availability and pricing of some products out of Canada right now is up in the air.

Hello Hard to find a radiator repair shop anymore, had a Model A leak repaired, had another I wanted rebuilt, waited too long were closed about 6 weeks later, had been in business for 70 years. Most radiator repair shops are remove and replace shops don’t do any repair.

The radiator in my 30 A didn't leak but I thought it would be a good idea to get it boiled out. It leaked after it came back from the shop so instead of throwing more money at it I got a new one from Brassworks. I think it was leaking from the where the overflow tube goes through but not sure. If anyone is interested I would sell it fairly cheap but not sure how much shipping would be.

Get a new one from Brassworks and wait the wait. I initially tried to repair my original radiator at a well known shop. Paid $500 however still ended up overheating and throwing it away. Got the Brassworks for $1100 and running cool (too cool actually!)

Thanks for all the comments. I’ll probably go with a Brassworks radiator. I’m not sure the 2 current radiators I have are salvageable for a driver car.

Where is the temperature gauge sensor in relation to the t'stat? I'm assuming that the t'stat is in the upper rad hose? If you can, verify temperatures w/a IF temperature reader.
