Default Another Show For The Merc

Drove the Merc to it's first car show and shine of the year yesterday. Ambient temp of 70 or so and it ran good except at certain throttle setting in the mid range. No lack of power or response at higher throttle settings but if I wanted to cruise steady at 50 mph it was steadily stumbling and running rough. Stopped in the next town for a rest and inspection. The rest of the way home it ran much better even though I did nothing more than make sure the wires in the dist. cap were pushed in tight. I came home with "best beater" award. Some video of it on the road here.

Great to hear. I will have to be quicker posting those video links There were possibly two other flatheads there including a 46 car and a 50 Mercury truck just like the one in my yard. Although I did not look under the hood so it might have been something newer. I got several comments on the Merc including "great patina". I didn't push it much over 55 on the highway but it sounded and felt like there would be no problem if I wanted to go faster.
My nephew should have some good video shot from the Chevy "chase car" on the highway I'll post one of these days.
