1941 ford cluster gear

I bought this NOS cluster gear for my 1941 convertible many years ago and now wonder if it is correct. It has 29 24 17 15 tooth count. If not what is it for. Thanks for any info.

Looks like 67-7113-A used in commercial, 3/4 and 1 ton.

You can use the 29 tooth cluster with a matching 15 tooth input gear. No problem but you will be shifting into third gear sooner. These two gears are easier to find in new condition than the original 28 tooth cluster and 16 tooth input. Good luck.

Oops. You have the earlier 29 tooth cluster... I was assuming you had the later 022A-7113 29 tooth cluster which can be used in your 1941 transmission.

The 67-7113 cluster gear had helical teeth on the big gears up front, and straight cut gears on the rear two. It is intended to work with a 14 tooth main drive gear, so the transmission will have pretty darn low first and second gear ratios. It was designed to work with the 41-42 flathead 4 cylinder engines that were built for pickup trucks back then. Very few people want that sort of gear ratio matched up with the V-8 engines. I’ve got a lifetime supply of them on the shelf here…. I can mention you in my will if you’re moved to have your own collection.
