I added a Jeep spare tire brake light to my 1928 roadster for added safety at night. Mounted it on the backside of the spare tire mounting bracket. Tapped a 5/16 -18 1/2 inch deep hole in the head of the mounting stud as shown in the pictures.
Allso needed to attached a 6 V to 12 V converter to the backside of the brake light because the light is a 12 V and my car is still 6 V. |

I may try that. I had someone tell me my passenger side brake & running lights weren't working!

Thanks for all the compliments, but I do not think it’s brilliance on my part, but I do know that it’s much cheaper than doing it the Model A vendors way.
The step-up converter at Amazon is only $12.99 and the brake light at Amazon is only $19.52. If you are going to install a right hand body or fender arrangement it will cost you about $80 from a vendor. Plus you will have to do some drilling into your car body or fender, which I did not want to do. If you do decide to incorporate this idea purchase a light that has only one row of lights. A wider light ring will be obstructed by the wheel hub. Another nice thing about this arrangement is that the light is not noticeable until the brake is applied. |
