I did a little sleuthing. It looks like the company is Webb & Seward Pharmacy. There was a company of that name in Pasadena, CA. Do those look like period CA plates? If it was a CA car, it might have a better chance of surviving.

What is the other car? That headlight bar looks familiar, but I can't place it.

1931 California passenger car plates were yellow/orange letters on black background, format #L ## ##. The car on the left has plates that match this format, the town car has plates #L ###. Not sure if they just didn’t put in leading zeros, in which case this would match the format. I have seen other CA plates of this era that were #L ###, in fact there is a single plate on FleaBay that I #L ##. In addition, the letter indicates the region that the plates were issued. I think that early alphabet letters were issued in Northern California (which would make sense, the capital Sacramento is in Northern California) and worked south as the alphabet progressed, so both plates (6P…) are consistent with this.

As an aside, currently California uses the format #L#### for motorcycles, so not every period plate of that format is usable as a Year of Manufacture plate to replace the modern plate. Only if that particular number/letter combo is not already assigned to a motorcycle.

I will answer my own question. The other car looks like a 29 Studebaker.

There are a few still around. There was one restored by a NJ company named Gassaway in the 70s and there was a white one from NY or New England that used to come to the Trexlertown Pa show
