I have seen a lot of posts regarding installing tube shocks on a Model A. I have a 1930 Town Sedan and have had success installing shocks.
I purchased shocks from Pete and Jakes - part # 1084. For the front bottom I fabricated a mount that clamped to the axle. At the top I needed to build a mount that raised the shock the correct amount. That would be with the shock extended 2" while sitting static. I used the factory holes to mount and to secure in position. For the rear I fabricated a clamp that clamps to the rear of the suspension where it is flat. The top bolted directly into the factory hole. Also designed so that the shock is extended 2" when static. This made a big difference in handling especially with a town Sedan which is a little top heavy. Now to see if I can include pictures. Jim Czebiniak |

I wonder if an anti-roll bar would help lessen the angle of lean during cornering? I don’t exactly understand how these work, but they were installed on some American cars having solid rear axles.

I don't want to sound critical but I think those mounts will fail, especially the top one at the front.

You are correct. The front needed reinforcing but now is working fine. The current picture is included. My son-in-law suggested adding a panard bar and there is a post where someone has done it. At this point i feel that the shocks are doing the job. I am still getting used to the handling which is a lot different than my lowered mustang.

The front top mount's vertical member should be a channel so it resists inboard-outboard bending. I also recommend that to save blood, you round all of the sharp corners. I like your creativity & thinking out of the box
