Default door latch spring

The return spring in the passenger door latch has broken and the latch will not latch. I bought a set of springs but for the life of me I can't figure how to reinstall the new spring! I tried every way I think they would go but each time I renistall the latch assembly, the latch will not fully release to open the door from the inside. It only seems to work work fully with the outside handle. Does anyone have a picture of the correct spring placement? It's the spring for the latch not the handle.
Thanks in advance!
Bill

Sorry. It’s a 1930 Model A Ford Tudor.
