I have ARP cylinder head studs purchased from Red's Headers back when everyone was out of stock of the ARP kits. Red's had purchased in bulk from ARP and packaged their own, that was in 2022. The studs provided are 3.5" and 2.75" for 8ba and Offy heads. To me it seemed the short ones are a bit too short, I wondered if they accidentally gave me the short studs for stock head application. Was going to call Red's but first called ARP and asked the stud lengths in their kit for 8ba/Offy. They told me 2.60 and 3.350, actually a bit shorter than what I have. So I don't know, I attached some pics, tell me what you think. Thanks.

The short studs may work as long as the top thread on the stud is at the top of the nut. Another factor those thick ARP washers are not needed I always use stainless washers which are thinner that the ARP washer. I always order ARP studs, nuts and stainless washers from Allensfasteners.com on line they sell every item a lot less than anyone else You could order a longer stud from Allen's in any quantity needed.
If you find it comes up a touch short backing the stud out of the block a bit would work as well. The deciding factor is how high a torque you use if its 50 I don't see why what it would not work. Ronnieroadster

Thanks for the info Ronnie, The nut only makes it about halfway, a thinner washer would help, but not enough, and I feel best when the stud is bottomed out on the deck. I'll contact Allen's tomorrow as they're closed on Mondays. Thanks again.
