Default Early 32 Ford?

These holes in my front splash pan on my early SN 32 Sedan always make me wonder. The holes in front of the cross tube are stock but not used. The two behind? Early version? later modification? Also it appears that original splash pan hardware was used in the correct location but in reverse order. ??????

Appears that it was reassembled by someone that put the front bumper iron bolt in the rear. Not supposed to have the hole behind the bar I don't think. How early is your sedan?

Tom

I agree with Sheldon. All earlier that I have had were fastened the same as mid-year and late production.

The only difference between the early aprons and all those that followed is the addition of a hole in the bottom lip of one side to permit the apron to be attached to a conveyor (according to the engineering drawing for the apron).

Thanks for the replies. Someone in the distant past went to a lot of trouble to precisely add those two extra holes and also reuse original hardware in an unorthodox application. What was the motivation? This effort was contradictory to the way the driveline was maintained. The engine compartment contained a generous serving of period household carpentry, electrical and plumbing fixes. It was a work of "art" in deep contrast to those two extra holes.
