1941 Ford 1.5 Ton US Mail Box/Panel Truck

Hi Everyone,
My nephew just acquired a 1941 Ford 1.5 truck, which it took forever to figure it out. It has been cut down to a truck. The odd doors and windshield made it tough. It has the full length running boards with the factory widener at the rear for the rear fenders with duals (fenders are gone) which my nephew spotted. My brother seen the rear bumper another tip. When they were hauling it home my brother spotted the big piece to the puzzle. US MAIL stamped into the side wall of one tire. I finally found 2 photos of what it originally was. Any info on this truck is appreciated. What we have read the post service was really struggling for vehicles at this time and what was built they used what they could get hold of to make them.
