Does anyone know why this 32-34? /36? Window Regulator Repair Kit from Ecklers comes with a spring inside the housing?

I cannot yet post picture or link.

The regulator I took apart had no spring. There was a separate piece of metal fabricated inside the housing presuming to glide better when cranking.

The spring I do have is on the interior of the handle behind the escutcheon and the panel.

I am trying to repair the damaged pin and small gear on my Front Passenger Door 36 Ford 5 Wnd. Couple.

I am concerned about removing as it may be difficult to impossible to put back in.
