I have checked the "search" and also google and no true picture of a 1936 intake manifold. I can`t seem to find one close so getting a date from underneath it is not working either. Has anyone got a good pic of a 36 intake please? Thanks. The distance from the center generator bolt to mating surface might help also.

There is one picture of a 1936 manifold in this discussion that may help you.

Here is a "basic" picture difference. First two are 36, last two are Mid/Late 35. Remember the Gen mount stud is mounted high on the gen mount face. 37 and later are mid/lower mounted studs!!

I "believe" that the one in Petehoovie's post is a 1934 "Service" replacement intake with the diamond shape fuel pump/oil fill stand opening?? The 35 and 36 intake stand openings should be round as there was a baffle that fit inside that opening. Attached is a line up of 32-36 intakes IF that helps you as well. THE last two on the left in photo #1 are that of 1936

Post #7 above enlarged photo's are of 1935 NOT 1936 just to be clear!!!
Let me preface my "knowledge" with I am not up to speed on 1936 early/mid/late to know enough of the details of those intakes other than what I have posted on the intakes above. I am sure there are a few 36 guys who will step in and enlighten us on the nuances of the 36 differences. Last edited by rockfla; 06-12-2024 at 02:47 PM. |

I appreciate the help. Rockfla I looked at the ebay items you supplied and that helps a bunch. Anyone know the height of the generator bolt center from the mounting surface? It will help locate the Generator and fan in comparison to what`s in there now. It may be too tall and hit hoses or radiator with a 36 manifold.

Trevor
Your missing the "Early" 35 intake. Here is the comparo's of it to both the 1934 & the mid/late 1935. NOTE the round fuel pump stand opening compared to the diamond shape of the 34 AND the big casting "nub" rear of the carburetor mounting tower on the early 35 |

Thanks to all. The smooth top (front and rear of carb) of the early 35 is interesting and then to see a 36 with both the flat in front then the runners to the back. My car is a 32 with a 21 stud LB. Currently I have a 38-39 iron manifold that I believe has the lower gen bolt. Also it looks like ford engineering and pattern makers were never out of manifold work. I`ll try and get a grand kid to post.

Yes, 37 and later have the lower or "mid mount" stud for the generator. ALSO on the 37 and later the "Ramped" front mount is not as pronounced as the 33-36.

** Shameless plug **
I have a 34 for sale in the swap meet section if anyone is looking for one for a collection or to run. It's in pretty good shape. Willing to give someone a deal on it |
