Default Rear axle/torque tube stand

Has anyone ever seen one for sale? Saw this at the Early Ford Foundation Museum.

Every once in a while you'll see one for sale. I'd love to go back and trace what happened to all these specialty tools. I'd have to assume, as time went on, many of them got scrapped since they were deemed obsolete.

Am I correct, that the torque tube was part of the car for assist-rearend stability during this period?

My parent's '1950 did not have a torque tube. (?)

Was torque tube a Ford decision year to year?
Thank You -

Torque tubes went away for Ford cars in 1949, I think trucks were a year or two earlier.

Great explanation of the TT design that V8Coopman provided.
